CARE AT KLCC
Pregnancy & Infant Care
Gentle, individual care through pregnancy, after birth and for infants.
Care adapted around you and your family
Pregnancy, birth and the early months with a baby can place changing demands on the body. Our practitioners take time to understand what is happening, explain options clearly and adapt any care to comfort, age and individual circumstances.
We do not promise to “fix” babies. Where appropriate, our aim is to support comfort and address specific musculoskeletal difficulties with a careful, gentle approach.

During pregnancy and after birth
Physical changes during pregnancy can affect comfort, movement and everyday activity. Positioning and techniques are adapted to the stage of pregnancy and the individual. Postnatal care can also take account of the physical demands of feeding, carrying and caring for a new baby.
Gentle infant care
Infant appointments begin with a careful discussion with the parent or carer. Assessment and any hands-on care are gentle, age-appropriate and explained throughout.
Parents sometimes bring an infant for assessment because they are concerned about comfort, movement or tension. We can assess musculoskeletal function and, where appropriate, discuss whether gentle osteopathic care is suitable. Feeding or latch difficulties and concerns following a difficult or assisted birth can have many causes and should be assessed by the appropriate midwifery, health-visiting, lactation, paediatric or medical professional.
We do not replace midwifery, health-visiting, lactation, paediatric or medical assessment. We will recommend referral where another professional is better placed to help.

Comfort, consent and appropriate referral
Care is adapted throughout and parents are encouraged to ask questions. With infants, we work around feeding, settling and the baby’s cues rather than forcing treatment. If symptoms suggest that medical or specialist assessment is needed, that takes priority.
