YOUR CARE AT KLCC
Patient Information & Your Rights
Clear information about consent, dignity, chaperones, safeguarding, accessibility and how we support your choices.
Last reviewed: August 2026
Your involvement in your care
We aim to provide care that is respectful, individual and collaborative. Your practitioner should explain relevant findings, proposed options, expected benefits, material risks and reasonable alternatives in a way that enables you to make an informed decision.
You are welcome to ask questions at any point. You can decline a particular examination or treatment technique, ask for an alternative where clinically appropriate, or withdraw your consent at any time.
Chaperones and support
You are welcome to ask for a chaperone or to bring a trusted adult, friend or family member to support you during an appointment, subject to clinical appropriateness and the patient’s wishes.
If you would like a member of clinic staff to be present as a chaperone, please tell us when booking where possible. This is subject to appropriate staff availability and, if a suitable chaperone is not available when needed, the appointment may need to be rearranged.
A practitioner may also recommend or require a chaperone in particular circumstances to support safety, dignity or professional boundaries.
Children and young people
We take additional care when treating children and young people. Consent and involvement will be handled according to the child’s age, understanding, circumstances and applicable law. Where appropriate, a parent, guardian or person with parental responsibility will be involved in decisions about care.
We also aim to involve the child or young person in discussions at a level they can understand and to respect their views, comfort and dignity.
Safeguarding
King’s Lynn Chiropractic Clinic is committed to safeguarding children and adults who may be at risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation. The clinic maintains safeguarding policies and procedures and expects staff and practitioners to act appropriately where a safeguarding concern arises.
Patient information is normally confidential. However, there are circumstances where information may need to be shared without consent where this is necessary and lawful to protect a child or adult at risk, prevent serious harm, respond to an emergency or meet another legal or professional duty.
If you wish to raise a safeguarding concern connected with the clinic, please contact the Practice Manager at practicemanager@kingslynncc.com or telephone 01553 772512.
Privacy, dignity and professional boundaries
You should be treated with dignity and respect. Examinations and treatment should be explained appropriately, privacy should be maintained as far as reasonably possible, and professional boundaries should be respected at all times.
If clothing needs to be moved or adjusted for an examination or treatment, the practitioner should explain why and seek your agreement. You may ask questions or decline at any point.
Accessibility and reasonable adjustments
We want patients to be able to access our services fairly. If you have a disability, sensory need, communication difficulty, mobility requirement, neurodivergence or another need that may affect your visit, please tell us. We will consider reasonable adjustments and practical support wherever possible.
This may include allowing additional time where available, adapting communication, discussing access before your appointment, providing a quieter approach where practicable, or considering other adjustments relevant to your needs.
Confidentiality and records
Your personal and clinical information is handled in accordance with our confidentiality and data-protection responsibilities. Please see our Privacy Notice for information about how we use and protect personal data and how to exercise your data-protection rights.
Regulated practitioners
Chiropractic and osteopathy are regulated professions in the UK. The clinic maintains appropriate evidence of professional registration for regulated clinicians. Registration details are available in the clinic where required and patients may also check a practitioner’s registration directly with the relevant professional regulator.
We do not publish individual clinician registration numbers on this website.
If you have a concern
If something about your care or experience has not met your expectations, please tell us. Our Complaints Procedure explains how concerns and formal complaints are handled.
